This is a smartphone application that read aloud characters with the camera for people who have difficulty reading or cannot read characters. This is a camera app that uses the world's top class OCR (optical character recognition) and voice read aloud engine. It also supports files.

Feature

How to use
The characters are automatically recognized when take a picture with the camera or reading an image file.
A frame is displayed around character. tap to read aloud character.
To read aloud the full text, push the triangle play button on the toolbar.
You can pinch in and pinch out to scale the image freely. Double tap to enlarge the corresponding part.
Camera performance
The character recognition rate increases in proportion to camera performance and the way the picture is taken.
A cheap smartphone may have a low recognition rate.
If you increase the number of image pixel, the recognition rate of characters will improve, but since there is an upper limit of the memory that can be used by the smartphone, images with more than 5 million pixels will be automatically reduced to 1/2.

Please make sure that your preferred engine is "Google Text-to-Speech".
Older Android has PicoTTS, so please install "Google Text-to-speech" app.
After that, select "Google Text-to-Speech" on the above screen and set.
Restart dyslexia when the configuration is complete.
To support read aloud in other languages, it is possible to set from the gear icon on the above screen.

Share multiple devices
User is recognized for each Google account, sharing is possible in same Google account on smartphones, tablets, etc.
Charges
You can choose number of times of OCR from "100 times, 500 times, 1000 times".
"Pending billing" occurs when the settlement is delayed. It is settlement may be automatically disapproved.
Maintenance
This application cannot be used while the license server is under maintenance. Large-scale maintenance is carried out once every 3 months for 30 to 60 minutes. Occasional small-scale maintenance is around 1 minute.
Number of times of OCR
Take a picture with the camera and decide, or reading an image file consume one the number of times of the OCR.
Please note that even if a character is not detected, it will be consumed one even if you cancel it halfway.
Voice read aloud
There are some languages that "Google Text-to-speech" does not support.
If you want to read aloud another language, use "Google Text-to-Speech" to switch the language.
Notes
Depending on the camera, the app may occasionally hang up when shooting. It's due to the camera app that came with your smartphone.
Depending on the old terminal, a file may be automatically generated each time you shoot with the camera. In that case, please delete it manually.
Background of development
I am the father of a son with characteristic of dyslexia. Initially it was developed for my son, but I decided to make the application open to the public for people with similar characteristic. Please understand, this application becomes the item charging method. Because, OCR has a paid license agreement with a partner company.
